Removing the smell of smoke in 3 steps

10/19/2019 (Permalink)

Get rid of the smoke smell

Three steps to fresh air

1. Remove the origin of the smell
First, remove the source of the smell. Remove all burnt units like drywall, furniture, cabinets, and contents that you cant salvage. Also do a deep, elaborate cleaning of all the items salvaged and materials. It's important to use the proper cleaning materials.

2. Clean any air ducting
Clean the ducting in the entire residence or business. Smoke, dust, and soot carry the smells and the sensory memory of the fire because the particulate matter remains inside the ducting system. Cleaning the heating, ventilation and airconditioning system at the beginning of the restoration procedure keeps re-contamination of the cleansed areas.

3. You need to remove the airborne smell
The VOC’s and PIC’s that create the odor stay in the air, so it's important to remove them from the air in order to remove the smoke smell.

We use an assortment of special methods to complete the smoke odor removal. The goal? — The absolute removal of the offending smoke smell.

Let your local experts (IICRC trained professionals) handle this. We can be contacted at 1-800-374-3213
